My Summer in West Virginia

Image
West Virgina is very pretty, it is very hilly and there aren't any corn or bean fields, just forest and meadow.     It was hard getting used to no electricity. We had to save water until the next time it rained. I had to get used to battery powered MP3 player, phone and DVD player.   But it was lots of fun. And since where Memaw lived there is a back road that only four wheelers drive on, she let me drive the Subaru three miles three different times.      I also learned how to sew on the treadle sewing machine (the very same one that mama learned to sew on) and made two pillow cases.      I learned how to play the guitar better, and had a lesson on how to play the fiddle.     I spent a month at Memaw's. I learned a lot of new things, but I am glad to be home.

Clara Barton

Image
Clara Barton                  Cara Barton was a Civil War nurse, she founded The Red Cross, and since lots of my friends don't know who she is, I decided to write an article on her.                  Clara Barton was born December 25 1821 in Oxford, Massachusetts, she was the youngest of five children born of Sarah and Stephen Stone .                  Clara's childhood was hard because kids teased her about her looks and because she acted like a tomboy. She was also very shy.                 When Clara was 11 years old, her brother fell off a building under construction. For the next few years Clara nursed him back to health.                When Clara grew up she felt pity for the soldiers on the battle field and was the first woman nurse on the battle  field. She died April 12 1912. By Abigail Leilani Chipps

Now it looks empty, lonely and to big, I cant wait for winter with this excuse. Every one of the leaves are yellow or brown. One thing I do like about this time of year is the harvest party (this Friday) It is also very cold I miss spring!! I am done talking about weather until spring.

MISSING DOG RED HAIR FLOPY EARS AND A WAGGING TAIL.

This is the family dog Honeybear, he is a very good dog that has recently been bad. It all began when a stray dog (black)comes wandering around our house and Honeybear fell in love with her, one day we came home, Mama comes running out to tell us that Honeybear was missing!!!!!  for three days he was gone (three days of crying.) Finely papa decides to build a trap onto the doghouse.  Hours later the dogs fall into the trap mama and papa get the cage but Honeybear wont come out papa bangs on the back of the doghouse the black dog and H.B. leap out and into the cage... later the dog warden came took the black dog away "good riddance."

Fall flew in
