Canning Tamatoes.

Canning tomatoes is lots of fun to do (that is, if it is not boiling hot outside.)

        First mama boiled them so that the skin would just peel off.
        Then I would cut them so that they would fit in the jar (some of them are really hard to cut.)
        I would get two courts of water and pour them into the caner and its my job to put lids and rings on all
        the jars. We put them in the caner for a long, long time (plus we have to listen to the noisy caner for
        the rest of the day!) I love canning tomatoes.

    Canning! how is that fun?! its boiling hot outside and you have to stand over a pot that's steaming up into your face waiting for your lids to heat up! well im glad you enjoy it,

Harvest Party Costume (yes...ikikik...im super late)

So lately I have been finding myself obsessed with anything WWII and 1940s...so naturally I was overly excited about dressing up for our annual Harvest Party (we don't do Halloween). After many ideas that came and went, I finally settled on "WWII agent", and ideas and grand plans started whirling around my head immediately, Goodwill here I come.      I started by combing every Goodwill store for suits that would match this particular time period. I came up with a beautifully colored pant suit, which fit me well enough.   Of course I should also mention that I don't wear pants...ugh...first road block.  The transforming of the slacks into a pencil skirt was perfect, and after many adjustings and slips to cover up unseemly lines and lumps, we did it!! The shoes...ah...the shoes...this is a very long story, but to shorten it I will just say that I had been looking for them for months, I wanted a pair that were nice, American made, non 3 inch heele

things for young ladies to do on a cold winter day

this is a close up picture of my knitting. In Grandmas Attic. I enjoyed reading Beverly Cleary to.  I also enjoyed this series of books, mama read these aloud to us when we where little, I loved them a lot, these books are full of adventure that girls of all ages will love. this is a series of books every girl or boy should read. this is what I have been working on for quite a long time, it's a scarf for one of my best friends (Melinda).  This is my knitting bag, it is supposed to be a purse but I don't like soft purses.     My great aunt made this monkey doll for me, and I made the apron. I got this in a kit, it came with paint, it was hard to put together, and fun to  paint.
